About the Artist!

Hey everyone!

I’m Brita Lynn Thompson, the artist and founder of Zenspire Designs and this is my creative journey!

I’ve been drawing ever since I can remember. What began as a way to express myself and quiet my mind has grown into something far greater than I could have imagined. I started Zenspire Designs when I was just a teenager, turning my love for hand-drawn doodles and colorful, intricate patterns into a business rooted in joy, connection, and creativity.

Back in 2014, everything changed when I entered the Starbucks White Cup Contest. I had no real expectations, I just drew one of my signature black-and-white designs on a plain Starbucks cup and submitted it for fun. To my absolute shock, I won. My artwork was printed on limited-edition reusable Starbucks cups across the country. That moment, seeing my art on shelves in stores, was the spark that launched what would become Zenspire Designs.

That win gave me the confidence and the platform to take my doodles more seriously. I started drawing more, posting my art consistently on social media, and saying “yes” to every opportunity to grow. I slowly began turning my illustrations into tangible products: waterproof stickers, coloring books, puzzles, crewnecks, mouse pads, magnets, and so much more. What was once a creative hobby became a full-time brand rooted in color, connection, and creativity.

What makes Zenspire Designs special is that it’s always evolving with me. In 2024, I started exploring a new medium that completely reignited my creativity: mosaics. I had no formal training, just a desire to try something different and a deep curiosity to see where it could go. I fell in love with the process immediately.

Mosaics gave me a new way to tell stories through color and pattern. Each piece is built tile by tile, echoing the same attention to detail and movement I bring to my drawings. What started as a spontaneous passion project quickly grew into one of the most requested and shared parts of my art. I’ve now created dozens of mosaic pieces, each one reflecting the same energy and emotion as my pen-and-paper work, but in a bold, physical form.

That shift into mosaics reminded me that creativity doesn’t have to stay in one lane. As artists, we’re allowed to expand, explore, and try new things, even when they feel scary or uncertain. 

Through Zenspire Designs, I’ve not only been able to share my art with the world, but I’ve also built a community of people who value creativity, growth, and color just as much as I do. Whether I’m designing a sticker, crafting a mosaic, or filming behind-the-scenes content for Instagram and TikTok, I always aim to create with purpose and heart.
